Harry Roberts on Twitter: "Create a Git commit template file (left) and link it through your .gitconfig (right) to have a standard commit message format every time."
Harry Roberts shares a simple trick to set up a git commit message template. First, create a file .git-commit-template
with the content (i.e. [refs #0000] Subject line
) and save it to your project root. Then add [commit] template = {pathtoyour .git-commit-template file}
to your .gitconfig
file.
